MARHTO (Master's Degree in Human Resources, Work and Organisational Management) has as its basic objective to prepare students as competent professionals in the field of Human Resources from the perspective of Psychology. Therefore, we strive to provide students with a solid preparation in the 3 main fields of the discipline: Work Psychology, Organisations and Human Resources. We consider of great importance the internships that in their initial phase are developed under professional supervision in order to guarantee the learning of some of the competences and roles required for professional practice. Entry Profile

The entry profile is broad as MARHTO's career opportunities cover all types of organisations: private companies, public administrations, non-profit organisations and self-employment.

Preference will be given to those studies that are directly related to those offered in the Master's Degree. Therefore, it is established explicitly, but not exhaustively, some of the degrees that will be considered: degree in Psychology, Labour Sciences, Business Administration and Management, Economics, Law, Engineering and their equivalents, among others, etc. In order to study the Master's Degree in Human Resources, Labour and Organisational Management, the motivation letter and Curriculum Vitae of prospective students are taken into account.

The Selection and Assessment Committee reserves the right to admit students from other degrees who wish to study this Master's Degree. The admission criteria, as well as the announcement of the start, development and end of the Master's admission process will be published on the official notice boards and on the web page of the Master's Degree. Pre-registration and Enrolment

The management of the pre-registration to study the Master in Human Resources, Work and Organisations at the UMH follows the pre-enrolment process common to all master's degrees. The first period usually opens in May, the second period from July onwards (see link for more information).

The pre-registration is online through the platform UNIVERSITE(if it is not open during the established periods, i.e. the master's degree does not appear, it is a sign that there are no places left).

The registration will be done through the DNI and a pin (sms or email) that gives access to the enrolment application.

The only justified reasons for requesting partial enrolment are: regulated and accredited work activity, high-level sports practice, special educational needs or family responsibilities.

 

Study Plan

Summary of the planning The Master in Human Resources, Labour and Organisational Management study programme is as follows:

Students must compulsorily enrol in modules I, III and IV and must choose at least 2 subjects from module II. The minimum total number of credits in which the student must be enrolled is 60 (distributed as follows: 27 + 15 + 12 + 6).

The degree has a planned duration of 1 academic year (from 1 October to 30 September). It is a degree modality blended learning (see the schedule in the link). To get an idea of the timetable, you can consult previous years' timetables. here.

Double degrees

Access

You can access MARHTO with an official Spanish university degree or another degree issued by a higher education institution of the European Higher Education Area that entitles you to access Master's degree courses in the country of issue of the degree.

In the case of education systems outside the European Higher Education Area, the student must accredit a level of education equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish university degrees and which allow access to postgraduate studies in the country issuing the degree.

Depending on the origin of the degree, the admission process will be different.

Admission

In addition to the documents requested by Gestión de Estudios, for admission to study the Master's Degree in Human Resources, Work and Organisations, it will be necessary to provide:

  • Academic record of which both the total record and the grades in the subjects of the degree or bachelor's degree corresponding to the lines of work related to the Master's Degree will be assessed.
  • Work and seminars carried out, related to the lines of work related to this Master's Degree.
  • Profile or professional career related to the lines of work in Psychology of work, organisations and human resources.
  • Other criteria such as: knowledge of languages of scientific interest, preferably English, and knowledge of statistics will be taken into account (these are not exclusive access conditions).
  • It shall also be accompanied by a explanatory application or letter of motivation.

Non-Spanish-speaking foreign students must accredit their command of the Spanish language by taking a written and oral Spanish level test to certify that they have the necessary skills to successfully complete the Master's Degree.

The admission body will be composed of technicians from the UMH Studies Management Service and a Selection and Evaluation Committee of MARHTO professors. Among the functions of this body will be to evaluate the curricula of applicants to the Master's Degree. The maximum number of students admitted will be 100.

Price

The price of the master's degree (updated for the academic year 2023/2024) corresponds to the public prices established by the regional government and you can find the link to the updated document on the website of the Study Management Service in the pdf document Frequently asked questions for master's students. The prices shown on our website are subject to change as they are managed by the Generalitat Valenciana (regional government).

If you are from a country outside the European Higher Education Area, you must also add the price of the degree homologation when you pre-enrol.

Profile of graduates

The career opportunities The number of courses that can be taken after completing this degree is manifold, in various fields of application and at different levels.

The knowledge acquired at MARHTO will respond to the current needs of companies in different areas. Thus, we find positions in obvious areas such as: labour sciences, human resources, health or occupational risk prevention; and also in other not so obvious sectors such as: education, public administrations, security forces, engineering, industry or tourism. 

It generates added value and makes a difference in companies and departments of consultancy, human resources, job placement and guidance, management of people and work teams, occupational risk prevention management, quality, competitive examinations or doctorates. The experience and competences of the master's degree can provide a distinctive element in positions at all levels, from employee or middle management to management, whether employed or self-employed.

The perspective of psychology and health applied to work and organisations provides a holistic view that is necessary in today's labour market.

Although it is a professional master's degree, it also meets all the requirements of a research master's degree: Research Techniques subject with a minimum of ECTS credits and Master's Thesis with a minimum of 12 ECTS credits. In other words, MARHTO prepares students for access to doctoral programmes.
